Bethesda Confirms Continued Official Mod Support for "Fallout 76"

The development team for Fallout 76 reaffirmed its commitment to official mod support during a panel at QuakeCon in the Netherlands, and when asked about the possibility of mod support during a Q&A, Fallout 76 project lead Jeff Gardiner said, " We are definitely still working on mod support."

Gardiner replied, noting that adding mod support to "Fallout 76" would be a daunting task due to the client-server architecture at the core of the game, unlike previous single-player "Fallout" games.

Bethesda has always made it clear that official mod support for "Fallout 76" is planned but will not be available until well after launch." We call it heavy lift," Gardiner says in the stream. Mods for "Fallout 76" have technically been around for a while since the beta, and Bethesda says they keep track of the most popular ones to see what people like. there are plenty of mods in places like Nexus Mods, which you can download and use, share them with others on private servers. However, official support would bring mods to places like Steam's Workshop, not to third-party sites.

Fallout 76 just released a new update, "A Colossal Problem," which introduces a particularly terrifying new boss.
