Players of GT: The Civil War manage one of two combat opponents in the game, mustering troops, managing officers and logistics, and deploying them on the battlefield. Multi-day battles are an important feature, like Gettysburg in history, where the actions of engineers and the arrival of reinforcements between days of battle can turn the tide.
There is a detailed command infrastructure, and officers may like or dislike each other or become rivals, causing their units to fail to coordinate well or fight to gain an advantage over their opponents on the battlefield. There are also optional rules for officers disobeying orders and for couriers who carry orders from the command post to the officer's position.
The developers have also already released a post-launch roadmap. They will first work on saving and loading during combat, then give the campaign AI a passing grade. After that, new maps, campaign start dates, tutorials, etc. will be added.
