Dirt 5" postponed, but only for a week

Codemasters' latest muddy rally game, Dirt 5, has been delayed. It will now be released on October 16 instead of October 9, as announced on Twitter. The reason for the postponement has not been disclosed, but those who pre-ordered the "Amplified Edition" will still have 3 days of early access.

Codemasters is heavily promoting the career mode of "Dirt 5," featuring Troy Baker as player mentor Alex "AJ" Janicek and Nolan North as nemesis Bruno Duran, both of whom star in "Uncharted 4." played well together as the Drake brothers, so one hopes that they will interact in some way in "Dirt 5."

In addition to the "deepest" career mode in Dirt history, Codies teases something else on the Dirt 5 site: "A huge new feature never before seen in the DIRT franchise. Get ready to unleash your creativity and ambition in our extreme racing world." Dirt 4 featured a stage generator that relied on procedural generation, but will the sequel feature a full-fledged track editor?

Whatever it ends up being, Codemasters says it plans to unveil the feature before launch.
