Marvel's "The Avengers" and More Confusing Exclusive Tie-In Content

A few days after beginning to win people over, "Marvel's Avengers" has had some of its goodwill undermined by the news that Spider-Man will be an exclusive character in the PlayStation version of the game.

But that's not the only PlayStation-exclusive perk: PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive "legendary" costumes, emotes, takedowns, and nameplates for every hero in the game, from the six heroes in the launch version to those added after release exclusively for 30 days. In addition, PlayStation Plus subscribers will also receive additional benefits. After launch, each superhero will receive a bundle with in-game cash and a separate costume and nameplate, as well as a special bundle focused on Ms. Marvel.

So far, it seems that only PlayStation will be favored, but some more exclusive perks have been revealed: leaked character skins that seem to indicate collaborations with Verizon, Virgin Media, and Intel;

It appears that if you want the Avengers in a handsome shade of red (see image above), you need to be a Verizon/Virgin Media customer, and if you want the Hulk in gray with a gold chain, you need to go to Intel. The latter skin may be related to Intel's rumored Avengers-themed KA CPU, which looks like:

There is also a rather odd collaboration with 5 Gum, with currency, artifacts, emotes (including a bubblegum-blowing Ms. Marvel emote ) and other small rewards are unlocked.

The game will be released on September 4, with a PC pre-order beta running from August 14-16 and an open beta from August 21-23.
