Steam Game Festival Returns in the Fall

The Steam Game Festival debuted in December 2019 in conjunction with The Game Awards, with limited-time demos of 13 upcoming titles; a spring edition was held in March to make up for the loss of the GDC, with five days instead of 48 hours and 40 game demos; the week-long Summer Games Festival brought 900 demos to our doorstep, and we did our best.

And back again: Geoff Keighley, who knows a thing or two about this sort of thing, said today on Twitter that the Steam Game Festival: Autum Edition will offer even more game demos in October.

Valve has yet to reveal any details about the fall festival, but we sincerely hope that it will take a different approach than the summer event. Nine hundred game demos at once was too many, especially for an event that only lasted a week. It is impossible to present more than a small fraction of that number in an informative way in such a short period of time, and the result is that attention is drawn to games that are already well known and have the least need for it. don't think it's a good approach.

I have contacted Valve for more details on the next Steam Game Festival and will update as soon as I know.
