Perhaps the most anticipated platformer of the year, Spelunky 2, now has a Steam page. The new roguelike platformer is set to launch on PS4 on September 15, but the PC release date was left rather vague with the simple statement "shortly thereafter." However, that ambiguity seems to have been resolved a bit: according to developer Derek Yu, Spelunky 2 will be available "within a few weeks at the latest" of the PS4 release. Probably early to mid-October.

"Just to clarify again, we are taking extra time to make sure that Spelunky 2 runs well on PC. This includes, but is not limited to, online multiplayer testing." He continued that the development team is "working hard to get the two release dates as close as possible!"

Spelman said.

Spelunky 2's new Steam page is full of nifty screenshots, some featuring sloths, which is lovely, and which Spelunky enthusiast Emma Matthews described as "the perfect sequel for returning players." It's a detailed page worthy of a sequel to a beloved game. After watching the trailer, she said: "Brimming with new enemies and trickier traverses, Spelunky 2 shows signs of presenting a real challenge to returning players.
