Intel's "Marvel Avengers" CPU, beautiful packaging, but no full game

A few weeks ago, we wrote about a smattering of international retailers selling Intel's "KA" model CPUs as Avengers Edition processors. We confirmed on Twitter that Intel is partnering with Marvel to release Core desktop processors with Avengers Collector's Edition packaging.

Intel did not state exactly which Core CPUs will be offered in this themed packaging, nor did they reveal how limited this promotion will be. What is interesting about this tie-in, however, is that it does not include the upcoming Marvel game "The Avengers. That's because ...... I'm actually not sure.

If you zoom in on the image in the Intel video, you can sort of see the disclaimer on the bottom left of the box, but it is blurry. Twitter user @momo_us found a retail listing for the KCC store and a set of photos taken by the retailer.

Marvel's Avengers will be released on September 4 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. Square Enix originally planned to release the game in May, but like many others, it was delayed slightly due to Covid-19.

KCC Shop lists only one Avengers CPU, the Core i9-10850KA. Other retailers indicate that there are at least other SKUs, including the Core i9 10900KA, Core i7 10700KA, and Core i5 10600KA.

The specs for the KA model are the same as the regular ones; what you get with the KA model is a themed package designed by muralist Tristan Eaton.
