General
A content update for Ooblets is planned for September.

Today, Ooblets developers Rebecca Cordingley and Ben Wasser announced the development roadmap for the game. They also announced even bigger news: a baby is on the way.

"Rebecca (lead programmer and artist at Ooblets) is pregnant and will soon have our first baby. We are very excited, hopeful, nervous, and every other emotion," Wasser wrote in today's update. The pandemic has thrown a little wrench in our plans to have our family around to help us, so we are going to take it all on ourselves, but I think we are up to the task"

.

He also touched on what this means for the future of Ovretz, saying that they "have been planning for a while" and have been working to ensure that progress is not too badly hampered. He said that's also why he's been relatively quiet over the last week or so, trying to get as much work done as possible before the big day for the September content update.

Wasser could not foresee how much the birth would affect their lives, but admitted that they are "confident we can keep a decent pace of bug fixes and updates before and for a while after the birth. Whatever happens, we will not push ourselves beyond our limits. Our family and health come first, and we ask that everyone understand the impact this may have."

No due date was announced (perhaps a bit too personal), but it sounds close:
