MSI registered a number of what appear to be Nvidia Ampere graphics card codes with the Eurasian Economic Commission. Without directly naming the different GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs, MSI entered 29 different codes into the database, but specifically registered them as "video cards."

We expect the new Nvidia cards, which CEO Jen-Hsun Huang will unveil at the GeForce Special Event on September 1, to launch a new era of graphics in the coming weeks. Until then, we have only a few leaks and speculation flying around about the new generation of GeForce GPUs.

The EEC database listing includes details of what looks like three different GPU models, each with several variations attached.

There are 602-V388, 602-V389, and 602-V390 versions (there is also a listing for 602-3889, which reads like a typo to me), and if this matches MSI's previous GPU naming convention, we can We can expect.

In the RTX 20 series, V375 represented the RTX 2060, V373 the RTX 2070, V372 the RTX 2080 GPU, and V371 the RTX 2080 Ti card. If the same holds true for this generation, then V388 would be an RTX 3090 card, V389 would be an RTX 3080, and the four V390 codes would be RTX 3070. [While the GPU codes in the EEC sometimes detail the actual card specs, referring to VRAM capacity, for example, the third number in the series appears to refer purely to a different card version.

MSI's RTX 20 series cards have an "R" appended to the third number in the series, and the RTX 30 series seems to work sequentially with an "S" appended instead to indicate a later generation.

Now, while there are 29 different codes on this list, V388 has 14, V389 has 11, and V390 has just 4, which does not automatically mean that MSI will drop 29 different Nvidia Ampere cards when they launch next month. Perhaps MSI is registering codes now for further launches down the road, not just the RTX 3090, RTX 3080, and RTX 3070 to be released in September.

Thus, the launch of Nvidia's new generation of cards is getting much closer, and we will soon not have to deal with the many rumors and fake images that are currently buzzing around the Internet.
