Need more storage' This 2TB SSD is super fast and on sale for $205

You can complain all you want about games like "Modern Warfare" taking up disk space, but anyway, the days of getting by with a 256GB SSD are almost over. Depending on the number of games and programs you have installed, even a 512GB SSD may not be enough. Fortunately, SSD prices are on the decline, and Newegg now has a very fast XPG Gammix S7 2TB SSD for just $204.99.

This is actually not the cheapest 2TB SSD on Newegg; Mushkin's 2.5-inch Enhanced RAW 2TB SSD sells for $180.99. However, the XPG drive is an M.2 form factor SSD with an NVMe interface and transfers data through the PCI Express bus. It is also one of the faster NVMe models outside of PCIe 4.0 drives.

Specifically, it offers sequential read speeds of up to 3,500 MB/sec and sequential write speeds of up to 3,000 MB/sec. However, this could change if developers adopt faster SSDs across the board. Sony and Microsoft are touting the virtual elimination of game loads and in-game transitions. Sony and Microsoft have boldly stated that this will be the case.

Outside of gaming, the high speeds offered by the XPG Gammix S7 could be useful for OS booting, game load speeds, large file transfers, and boosting certain productivity applications. Either way, whether or not you need a new SSD, it's hard to beat this product at this price.

Newegg's retail price is $299.99. This drive is not normally sold at this price, but Best Buy has it for $239.99, so you save at least $35 on this deal.
