Action-puzzle "Magrunner": free on Steam through August 27 at 1 p.m. PST Originally released in 2013, Magrunner combines cyberpunk sci-fi and Cthulhu mythology from developer Frogwares. It is a post-Portal 2-like action-adventure-puzzle game: polarize and manipulate objects with a magnetic glove.

You also have to avoid Cthulhu's monsters, of course.

I remember enjoying it there some years ago, and I recommend it for the free price. As I recall, the second half wasn't as good as the first half, but it only takes about 9 hours to finish, so it's a great game for a weekend binge. you can request a free copy of Magrunner: Dark Pulse, which is available for free download on Steam.

It's also Frogwares' 20th anniversary, which is why Magrunner is free. Most of the Sherlock Holmes games are 75-90% off on the developer's Steam page. The sale continues through September 1.

Frogwares has recently been in the news for a legal dispute with publisher Nacon, which funded the 2019 game The Sinking City. As of now, The Sinking City is not available on Steam, but is still available on Frogwares' website.
