"Chronicle of Heroes": Having raised $1.5 million on its first day on Kickstarter, three times its modest goal of $500,000, the company knew it would end up with an impressive total. The crowdfunding campaign ended with $4,571,000.1]

"Chronicle of Heroes" is a collaboration between Yoshitaka Murayama, creator of the "Gensou Suikoden" series and writer of the first two films, and character designer, writer, and producer of the first and fourth "Gensou Suikoden" films The game features turn-based combat, more than 100 players, and a new storyline. The game features turn-based combat, over 100 characters, a guild system, farms, a cafeteria, and a theater where newcomers perform plays based on scripts they have collected to rebuild their fortress cities.

It's too much, but that's what happens when you hit all the stretch goals in a crowdfunding campaign; the final goal, set at $4.5 million, was another companion game produced by a different studio, but with duplicate characters and shared assets.
