Cheat Seller Halts Call of Duty Hacks in Response to Activision Lawsuit

Activision filed a lawsuit against a cheat and hacking program developer, forcing said company to disable hacking in Call of Duty related products. The cheats in question were used in both Warzone and Modern Warfare. Hack maker CxCheats posted a statement on the Discord server, but the entire server was later removed.

"As a result of our litigation with Activision, we have agreed to cease development and support of all Call of Duty related products or services sold through the site," the statement, posted under the screen name Cam, said. The statement also said people using the tools would be banned. The statement concludes with an apology: "We apologize for any distress we have caused Call of Duty players.

The statement has now disappeared, but a screenshot of the statement was posted on the CODWarzone board on Reddit.

This has been a high-profile year for game cheats, with sales spiking during the lockdown, according to releases from cheat makers; Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward issued an official statement earlier this month urging people to stop cheating, and just this week, the company released a statement on the Streamer Just this week, a high-profile cheating incident occurred in which a streamer revealed his own cheat use while bragging about his skills.
