27" FreeSync gaming monitor with 165Hz refresh rate for $180

I waited several weeks to introduce this monitor. Today I received an alert that it is back in stock. Now, what is it? It's Monoprice's 27-inch Zero-G curved gaming monitor, and it's well worth the asking price of $179.99.

Monoprice is not the first name that comes to mind when thinking about monitors, and I have never used one of their displays. However, when purchasing various cables (HDMI, Ethernet, etc.), I often use Monoprice.

Brand name aside, this is a 27" VA display with 1920x1080 resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time (MPRT), and FreeSync support. According to the listing, the panel is made by Samsung (LSM270HP09).

Most 27-inch monitors under $200 are much slower, 60Hz or 75Hz. And if you narrow it down to 165-Hz displays, prices on Newegg start at $219.99 and go up quickly, to $300 or more.

Whether you decide to purchase a Monoprice display is up to you, but this display is a good value for money; according to Monoprice, the monitor uses an "A-grade panel" and comes with a one-year "PixelPerfect" warranty. Monoprice's monitors also come with a "no-hassle 30-day money-back guarantee."

For those seeking higher resolution, Monoprice also offers a 27-inch Zero-G model with 2650x1440 resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, FreeSync support, and DisplayHDR 400 certification for $249.99. It too is based on a Samsung panel (LSM270DP02).
