Alienware has confirmed that new GeForce RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 Nvidia Ampere graphics cards will be front and center as a refresh of its popular Aurora gaming desktop series looms. Best Gaming PCs rankings, and with Nvidia's impressive new GPUs at the center of the pack, it looks like its place will be secure.
These new GeForce GPUs will be found in both Intel and AMD's Ryzen-based machines, so no matter which side of the processor divide you sit on, you'll have one of the latest 2nd generation RTX cards to battle with.
Interestingly, Alienware has so far only mentioned the RTX 3090 and RTX 3080, with the lower-spec RTX 3070 conspicuously absent; Alienware says it will have a variety of configurations, but right now Nvidia's new line of Ampere cards They are only talking about the very high end.
Perhaps because of these powerful new GeForce GPUs, Alienware is also hinting at a new "proprietary cooling and thermal design intended to prioritize gaming performance." Presumably that means prioritizing gaming performance over decibel count...
This is the dual-slot liquid GPU cooling design that Asetek previewed in May, apparently commissioned specifically to address the increased power demands of the new Nvidia Ampere cards.
Along with the announcement of the new Ampere-powered gaming desktop PCs, Alienware also announced a new gaming monitor.
Both the Alienware 38 and Alienware 27 are Nvidia G-Sync Ultimate certified displays with a DisplayHDR 600 rating. 38" has an ultra-wide angle IPS panel and the 27" is a 1440p monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate The 27-inch monitor is a 1440p monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate.
But this is not the fastest panel Alienware has announced; the Alienware 25 is the company's latest esports-focused monitor, featuring a 360Hz refresh rate and Nvidia's new Reflex Latency Analyzer It "provides the first accurate measurement of system latency for competitive gamers.
However, it does not appear to tell you how to improve latency.
