The space sim Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, a Firefly-style adaptation of the Elite formula, was released on the Epic Store a year ago. Now, developer Double Damage Games has announced that it will be coming to Steam (and consoles) on September 22.

The original Rebel Galaxy was released in 2015 and featured an unusual wide-angle focused combat system that made it feel like piloting a sailing ship in space, not the reincarnation of Wing Commander Privateer that we had hoped for.Rebel Galaxy Outlaw was a prequel of sorts, playing it safe with more typical 3D dogfights.

In Robert Zack's review, Rebel Galaxy Outlaw was "spirited, good-looking, and lively, effectively spraying several cans of blue and pink graffiti onto the existing space sim template. None of the systems are particularly in-depth, but even a cursory glance is an exhilarating journey."[7
