Multiple leaks suggest Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti with 16GB of GDDR6 memory

There is growing evidence to suggest that the Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti is on its way. This is an RTX 30 series graphics card that has not yet been announced by Nvidia, but Lenovo's website lists the RTX 3070 Ti graphics card in several SKUs of the upcoming Legion T7 system, and MSI RTX 3070 Ti references have also been found online.

Now, let's not get ahead of ourselves: Nvidia just announced the RTX 3090, RTX 3080, and RTX 3070 yesterday, and according to Nvidia, the RTX 3070 is a graphics card that beats the RTX 2080 Ti for just $499.

With 5,888 CUDA cores running up to a boost clock of 1,730 MHz, the RTX 3070 beats the RTX 2080 Ti's 4,352 CUDA cores and 1,635 MHz (FE spec.) The only battleground where the RTX 2080 Ti has the advantage is in memory, 11GB of GDDR6 outperforms the RTX 3070's 8GB GDDR6. [Lenovo's listing (via Videocardz) suggests 16GB GDDR6 RTX 3070 Ti.

The existing RTX 3070 specs feature 16Gbps memory, and if this carries over to the Ti model, the RTX 3070 Ti would not only surpass the RTX 2080 Ti in capacity. [However, the 256-bit memory bus will likely be retained. Also, the new, faster GDDR6X specification appears to remain exclusive to RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 for now.

OEMs often plan for possibilities that may or may not be confirmed, so Lenovo's list is far from confirmed. Nevertheless, with multiple Legion T7 SKUs listed and complete memory specifications, it is unlikely that this is just a typo, and Lenovo is at least planning for the card's appearance.

The Lenovo Legion T7 gaming PC is listed as having an Intel Core i7 10700K CPU, Z490 motherboard, up to 32GB of RAM, and various PCIe M.2 SSDs. One thing to note, however, is that it is currently only available for Russia.

The card was also spotted by Twitter leaker _rogame, who posted a single screenshot of the MSI RTX 3070 Ti spec with 16GB of GDDR6 memory.

It is unclear what the potential price of such a graphics card would be or how the additional memory would affect performance, but both would either make this prospective card launch closer to the RTX 3070 at $499 or the RTX 3080 at $699. would affect whether it would be released at a price similar to the $499 RTX 3070 or the $699 RTX 3080.
