First Patch Released for Microsoft Flight Simulator, May Require Reinstallation

The first major patch for Microsoft Flight Simulator is now available on Steam and Microsoft Store. The update should install automatically after exiting and restarting the game, but the developers "strongly recommend" that players experiencing problems during the installation process completely wipe the game and re-install cleanly.

Clean install instructions are here for Steam and here for Microsoft Store and Game Pass; if you purchased the game from the Microsoft Store, please double-check that all files have been deleted: Search for "Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe" or "MicrosoftFlightSimulator" and make sure all files in these locations have been removed.

The patch notes don't have anything eye-catching, such as a fix for the Cessna not growing into a Boeing bug, but the changes to the content manager that will prevent it from automatically downloading previously removed packages are likely to be welcomed.

The full patch notes are below. For those of you who haven't seen it yet, here are these guys flying in real time from LAX to Dubai, these guys flying straight into Hurricane Lola, these guys flying straight out of 1998, and James flying deep into creepy weirdness Don't miss them.
