Last boat update is going to be suspiciously relaxing.

Rust has a reputation for being a cruel and ruthless sandbox, but with today's update you would never know it. Except for the part where you can beat someone to death with a paddle. Other than that, it looks very relaxing.

Facepunch has added boat vendors to the game. This means that you can no longer find boats along the coast. Instead, you must find a peaceful fishing village and find sanctuary - there will be swift retribution for violence - and buy a boat. [A rowboat costs 250 scraps, an inflatable boat 400 scraps. You can also find items exclusive to the fishing village, like scuba gear, or buy a kayak, a new means of transportation.

Frankly, calling them kayaks is a bit of an exaggeration, but you can paddle your way down the beach in this floating pile of trash. If you are attacked, you can use your paddle as a weapon. This is a plow, with a rusty piece of metal attached to the other end.

The update also allows you to place devices that link to the Rust companion app. It can also serve as a security system, as it can be connected to traps and alarms to be activated when someone adds or removes items.

Workbenches can be picked up and moved, more objects are electrified, and significant changes have been made to farming. The full list of changes can be found in the update and accompanying blog, which will be released today at 7 pm BST/11:00 PDT.
