"Into the Breach" is an outstanding strategy game by Subset Games, the developer of "FTL," about a desperate war against an insectoid race called the Vek. a "tighter, more focused game" than "FTL," we said in our 93/100 review . That's pretty high praise.

It's also free to play for the next seven days on the Epic Games Store. If you have a fond memory (or if you check Epic's ongoing giveaway list), you know that this is not the first time this title has been placed on the free distribution block, but it definitely deserves a second try.

Next week we have Railway Empire and Where the Water Tastes Like Wine. Nevertheless, the critical response has been mixed, with some people liking them and others not so much. It will be interesting to see if the free adaptation breathes new life into them and if they have the potential to become "overlooked cult classics" in the future.
