The dates for Minecon Live 2020 have been set. The live stream will take place on October 3 at 12pm EST (9am PT / 5pm BST / 2am, October 4 AEST) on the Minecraft website.

What we should expect seems to be "answers to pertinent questions about what other members of Mojang Studios have been working on all year." Whether that means future updates to Minecraft, Minecraft Dungeons, Minecraft Earth, or other unannounced projects remains to be seen. As I said, it's thin, but the mob vote is likely to return.

Meanwhile, the Minecraft Festival, which was expected to be a real-world convention in 2020, has been pushed back much further than expected; it was scheduled to take place this month before being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but is now scheduled for 2022. Mojang also announced that it would no longer be involved in official community events.
