Skullgirls" studio head fires everyone who hasn't quit yet

Several employees of Skullgirls and indivisual studio Lab Zero recently resigned. The resignations came as allegations about studio head Mike Zaimont's history of sexual and inappropriate comments and behavior toward staff and members of the fighting game community came to light. As animator Jonathan Kim explained on Twitter, as of last week, Zymont had fired all of his remaining staff.

According to Kotaku, when the allegations became public, Lab Zero's board asked Zaimont to step aside, but no agreement was reached; instead, Zaimont dissolved its board and took over Lab Zero entirely. This triggered the first exodus of developers. Apparently, only the 11 people that Zaimont fired remained.

As for the future of Skullgirls, Autumn Games, which owns the Skullgirls IP, and Hidden Variable, which created the mobile version, released a joint statement last month saying, "We will be working with the many talented people leaving Lab Zero to build new Skullgirls content We plan to work with the many talented people who are leaving Lab Zero to build new Skullgirls content."
