Call of Duty: Black Ops' Cold War Multiplayer Accidentally Streamed

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War multiplayer details will be released next week, but people were treated to an unexpected early look when one of the streamers with access to the alpha version of Treyarch's 80s sequel went live on Twitch last night.

DougIsRaw viewers were able to see a few minutes of a multiplayer VIP escort mission set in Miami before the leak was plugged. Of course, this footage was captured before it disappeared, and Activision has been busy deleting the footage from the Internet, but the footage keeps reappearing.

With the series now moving back and forth between WWII, the future, and the 80s, CoD is all kind of a mixed bag for me, and it's hard to get a sense from a few minutes of what has changed since the last "Black Ops" or "Modern Warfare". Nevertheless, the HUD has undergone some changes, and the VIP escort mode seems to be new.

The corner of Miami included in the map offers interesting spaces, from quiet beaches to neon-lit art deco hotel and bar interiors. It is unmistakably Miami, or at least the version that most often appears on TV, in movies, and on tourist itineraries.

Last month Activision confirmed that all players, regardless of platform or console generation, can play together and that zombies are back. Other than that, they've been pretty tight-lipped, but more on the multiplayer will be revealed soon.

Cold War will be livestreamed on September 9, and you can pick up the game itself on November 13.
