World of Warcraft's next mount will be chosen by the community, and with the arrival of Shadowlands, players will soon be able to descend into the afterlife and add a whole host of mounts to their ranks.

Blizzard already has a quintet of concepts to get excited about, from big trees to big books for you to choose from. I'm fed up.

Here's the list, along with Blizzard's explanation:

Hardly! I will not be voting for spiders. Unless it is a vote to throw all spiders into the sun. The caterpillar's very compelling backstory does set it slightly apart from the rest, though. I likewise prefer to stuff my face instead of becoming a beautiful butterfly.

You can vote for your favorite mount on the EU and US forums until 9 pm BST (3 pm CST) on September 18. The chosen mount will be presented to all Shadowlands players early next year.

Last month, Blizzard also announced the release date for Shadowlands, which will allow players to head to the Afterlife on October 27.
