Nvidia launches GPUs from Jen-Hsun's kitchen, AMD sells mountain bikes; what's in store for 2020?

Following the announcement of Nvidia's RTX 30 series GPUs, AMD has stepped it up a gear and is now selling road and mountain bikes in its US fun store. That's right, as a free advertisement for the AMD brand, you can ride around on a stylish two-wheeler with the AMD logo.

This road bike, or cruiser (via Guru3D), is not the flashiest of its kind, but it does look a bit snazzy with its arched frame. However, to brake, one must pedal backwards, which is not for everyone. One can only hope that this is not an allusion to the release of the AMD RDNA 2.

The AMD mountain bike feature list is more comprehensive, with a dual suspension frame, 21 speed shifting, and Shimano twist grip shifters. I am dealing with a computer, not a bicycle. Because I am dealing with a computer, not a cycle.

Both AMD's road and mountain bikes retail for $299, which is not necessarily a good sign, especially for the high-end mountain bike crowd. There are several black and white combinations, each highlighting the bright tangerine features. Take a look at these tires. The bike will ship anywhere in the U.S. for $50, but will not be exported to other countries.

These products are all marketing as opposed to AMD's newfound true dedication to the cycling world, but they are certainly a clever way to cash in, given everyone's newfound cycling obsession that surfaced during the lockdown. It doesn't have 7nm TSMC transistors on board, but it does have a logo. [But expect to see an attractive new GPU from AMD around October, alongside the new Zen 3 Ryzen CPUs.
