Eric Baron "wouldn't be surprised" if "Stardew Valley 2" someday becomes a reality.

Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone is currently hard at work on update 1.5. The update has been in development since February, and while there is no word on when it will be released, Barone told Game Informer that he does not believe this update will mark the end of the game.

"I'm not going to commit to Stardew Valley 1.6. 'I love Stardew Valley. I love it as a world, I love it as a universe, and I don't think 1.5] will be the end of Stardew Valley. I wouldn't be surprised if there is another Stardew Valley update, I wouldn't be surprised if there are multiple updates, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a Stardew Valley 2. Who knows.

Before anyone gets too excited, he clarified that Stardew Valley 2 is not actually happening now. In fact, he doesn't know what will happen next.

"Once 1.5 is done, we'll decide what the next step is for Stardew Valley. But perhaps there will be a next step for Stardew Valley. But I think there will probably be a next step for Stardew Valley.

Barone also touched on why he remains committed to "Stardew Valley," which has been on the market since early 2016, which is of course sound from top to bottom. He explained, "I know it sounds like I'm just saying this, but I really do care about my fans and I want to make them happy." [Stardew Valley has] a community that loves the game. People ask, 'Why aren't you charging for updates? But in a way, people are paying for updates out of appreciation and love for Stardew Valley."

Last week, Baron announced the 1.5 update with this image. I'm not sure what's going on, but people seem awfully excited.
