Nvidia RTX 3080 cards available for pre-order today are here (update: no longer available)

Update: B&H Photo shows "Notify When Available" for both Asus TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 models that were previously available for pre-order on the site. It is possible that the vendor ran out of pre-order inventory (the 3080 is expected to be in high demand, as is the 3070), or that they are accepting orders earlier.

Starting with the "flagship" GeForce RTX 3080, new Nvidia Ampere cards will be waiting to hit retail shelves. This GPU will be available next Thursday (September 17), but if you want to order one now, you can.

I found just two models from Asus and its TUF Gaming line available for pre-order at B&H Photo. These are:

The more expensive of the two is presumably the overclocked model, but curiously Asus does not list specs on its product page (nor does the vendor listing this part).

For reference, Nvidia's blueprints for the 3080 show a base clock of 1.44 GHz and a boost clock of 1.71 GHz. It also has 8,704 CUDA cores and 10GB of GDDR6X memory with a 320-bit bus that delivers 19Gbps, resulting in a memory bandwidth of 760.3GB/s.

Nvidia considers the 3080 to be the flagship consumer GPU, while the higher-spec 3090 is primarily aimed at creators.

A Founders Edition variant with Nvidia's high-end cooler costs $699; based on B&H Photo's listing alone (because it includes pricing information), custom models currently range from $720 to $905.

We recommend watching a little longer, as it is inevitable that overclocked models will appear with prices closer to Nvidia's MSRPs. For example, Gigabyte's Eagle OC model is listed at $730, but is not available for pre-order.
