Mediatonic promised last week to deliver a major update to crack down on the cheater problem in Fall Guys. Today, they offered something a little different to pass the time while we wait." It's called "The Rise and Fall of Cheater Island," a twisted and horrifying tale

(not really a twisted or horrifying tale, but it shows how far some people will go to "win," even in a game like "Fall Guys," and how developers are (It's a fun story about the knots that have to twist themselves into in order to do something about it)

It turns out that "Fall Guys" had its own built-in anti-cheat system at launch, which included "Fall Guys Cheater Island".

However, it proved difficult to include cheats in Cheater Island because the developers had taken the approach of lowering the detection threshold of Fall Guys so that false positives would not occur. As a result, cheaters often "dropped forever" at the start of the game. Getting stuck at the loading screen appeared to be a bug, and Mediatonic was hesitant to say too much about it for fear of revealing their hand.

Cheaters eventually began to realize that they could work around this apparent glitch by teaming up with non-cheating friends or using family-shared exploits. Changes were made to eliminate these loopholes, and the island finally began to fill. However, an ironic turn of events awaited them!

"We know that there was a match being played on Cheetah Island. 'We just don't know if that is what is shown in these videos. For this reason, we have closed Cheetah Island. Instead, Cheetah can no longer log in."

It is unfortunate, but perhaps Mediatonic is willing to talk now because the next Fall Guys update "Big Yeetus and Anti-Cheatus" will incorporate Epic's anti-cheat technology. Details are scarce at this time, but the "Big Yeetus" part of the title suggests that it won't be as subtle as Cheater Island.
