Razer accidentally leaks personal information of more than 100,000 accounts

According to a report published on LinkedIn by cybersecurity consultant Volodymyr Diachenko (via The Verge), an estimated 100,000 accounts' personal data was compromised since August 18 According to Diachenko, he immediately notified Razer of the breach, but said that non-technical support staff handled the problem for another three weeks before the appropriate staff resolved the issue on September 9.

Razer confirmed Diachenko's report to PC Gamer and issued the following statement:

"We were informed by security researchers of a server misconfiguration that could have resulted in order details, customer information and shipping information being compromised. No sensitive data such as credit card numbers or passwords were compromised. The server misconfiguration was corrected on September 9, before the issue was made public.
