Nvidia's RTX 3080 goes on sale at 6 a.m.

After a temporary pre-order of a custom model last week, Nvidia's flagship card in its Ampere line will officially go on sale on September 17. Online retailer Newegg tweeted that it will sell Nvidia RTX 3080 cards starting tomorrow at 6 a.m., noting that "they are in great demand and will be flying off our digital shelves so be prepared to buy."

As Tim Adams, head of Nvidia's GeForce global community team, confirmed on Reddit a few weeks ago, 6 am PT seems to be the official time when sales will begin everywhere. He did not go on to confirm that the cards will be available in other regions at that time, but if they go on sale at the same time worldwide as other retailers, it will be at 2pm BST and 11pm AEST.

Our hardware leader Dave James was thoroughly impressed with the 3080's Founder's Edition, calling it "an outstanding gaming card that sets new benchmarks for both high-end 4K gaming performance and ray tracing" in his review, 92 points.

If you're interested in water-cooling the 3080, there are already several compact waterblocks being made that look quite attractive.

Thanks, The Verge.
