Anyone bidding over $60,000 for an RTX 3080 on eBay is either faking it or crazy.

Resellers are already selling Nvidia RTX 3080 graphics cards on Ebay for well above the asking price of $699. Some are selling for over $10,000, and some for over $60,000 (and rising fast).

Unfortunately, it appears that resellers, whether planned or opportunistic, were ready to scrape up available inventory to resell at a profit; Nvidia calls this "unprecedented demand," but the inventory seems to have disappeared from Nvidia's own stores and retail outlets within seconds of the new cards' release earlier today The new cards seem to have disappeared within seconds of their release. This was at 6:00am PT, and within minutes the numbers moved quickly to places like eBay.

It has also been suggested that a group of resellers planned the launch and monitored the site for return policies to minimize risk. At this time, however, we cannot directly confirm these claims.

What is clear, however, is that eBay is currently a free-for-all for resellers. While many of the high bids may be due to users trying to sabotage resellers' high bids to get their listings removed, or to resellers themselves trying to drive up their prices, some on Reddit have suggested that.

We recommend waiting for the RTX 3090 launch on September 24 before attempting to purchase the card for such a ludicrous price.

Speaking to PC Gamer about the RTX 3080's availability, Nvidia said:

"We are seeing unprecedented demand for the RTX 3080. We have been in production since August and are building as quickly as possible. Our NV team and partners are shipping more product every day to retailers and distributors"
