Humble's "You Can Pet The Dog" bundle offers everything from a sad story adventure to a chilling horror game.

If you're an online person out there and a fan of video games, chances are you know the Twitter account @CanYouPetTheDog. Its mission is simple: to create a "catalog of pettable and non-pettable dogs in video games," compiled from screenshots and video clips (or "manual input for visual representations of petting") sent in by followers Twitter and While it can be difficult to find truly wholesome content at the intersection of games, Can You Pet the Dog? is a remarkable example of people coming together to share their knowledge of games in order to bring a little joy to those who see it.

And now Can You Pet the Dog? has joined forces with another force for good in the gaming world. This "You Can Pet the Dog" bundle, available for purchase between now and October 1, features games in a variety of genres.

For those unfamiliar with how Humble Bundles work, the price is determined by the buyer. This means that you can commit to paying whatever amount you want above a very generous minimum. You can also pay more than this if you wish. In addition, you can decide exactly what percentage of your money you want to donate to Humble (administrative costs), to the developers of the game, and to various charities identified by Humble itself, or to a charity of your own choosing. This is a pretty sweet deal for everyone, especially considering that the Humble bundle sells for much less than a single game from any other storefront. The loot comes in the form of a digital Steam key, which you can redeem yourself or give to a friend.

In the case of the 'You Can Pet the Dog' Bundle, you only pay $1/£0.76 and get the cute puzzle game "Scribblenauts Unlimited," the artistic adventure game "Beyond Eyes," the indie sports management simulator "Dog Sled Saga," and the point-and-click horror game "Bulb Boy. For an above-average amount (£3.66 at the time of this writing, or about $4.75 US), you can also get a two-pack of the groundbreaking martial arts adventure game "Shenmue I & II," the indie narrative adventure "Where The Water Tastes Like Wine," the moody action platformer "Death's Gambit" will be unlocked. Finally, if you pay the full price ($12/£9.21), you'll also get "Blair Witch," last year's most unexpected survival-horror tie-in game. This includes the free Good Boy Pack DLC, which gives you a new skin and animation for Bullet, the canine protagonist, as well as the soundtracks for Bulb Boy and Dog Sled Saga.

Buying these items individually on Steam would cost about $160/£122, so it's hard to argue with the bargain. The really good news, however, is that Humble Bundle has named several animal charities as recipients of the profits: the Humane Association of the United States, a national animal welfare organization; the No-Kill Humble's default choices tend to be fairly U.S.-centric. (which tends to be more centered) or you can focus on charities that have more personal meaning to you.

You can also virtually pet all the good digital dogs.
