The Division 2" remains free this weekend

"The Division 2" is free again this weekend. Earlier today, Ubisoft announced that the pandemic-driven shooter will be free to play from September 24 through September 28.

Ubisoft also held a free weekend last October to celebrate the second "episode" of new content, and another free weekend in February of this year. Those who enjoyed roaming the streets of Washington, D.C., at the time but have yet to get around to playing the game will be glad to know that their progress will be carried over this time as well, according to Ubi, so they won't have to go through the early stages of the game twice.

It's all well and good by now, but the free weekend comes with a significant discount. This discounted price applies to all content added to The Division 2 over the past 18 months, not just what was available at launch.

To take advantage of the free weekend on PC, players will need to visit Uplay or the Epic Games Store. You can play from 9:00 local time on Thursday until 16:00 local time the following Monday.

When we reviewed The Division 2 last March, we described it as "a frequently thrilling game in which an hour is never enough," but Ubisoft has expanded it significantly over the past year, bringing the action back to New York and introducing plenty of new endgame content.
