It looks like the first two "Metal Gear Solid" games will be released on PC.

It has been a long time coming, but it appears that Konami has addressed the long absence of the PC versions of Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2. According to a new rating posted on the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Board's website (via Gematsu), the original MSX game "Metal Gear" will appear, as will "Metal Gear Solid" and "Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance."

This is not the first time that Metal Gear Solid and its sequel have become playable on the PC. Both were released in the early 2000s, but thanks to their disappearance from digital storefronts, they have been virtually unplayable. What is Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance is the name of the game that was eventually ported to PC (and Xbox), which also introduced a lot of new content and improvements.

As a result (and given Konami's general attitude toward modern ports), these games will likely be repackaged versions of older PC ports, but this will be the first time Metal Gear will be officially playable on the PC.

Taiwan has also leaked the existence of the Konami Collector's Series: this series includes Castlevania, Castlevania II: Simon's Quest, Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, Contra, Super C Dracula" and "Contra" have already been released as anniversary collections.
