Early Access release of "Baldur's Gate 3" delayed to October.

Baldur's Gate 3 was scheduled to launch in Early Access a week from today, on September 30, but it will need a little more time to be ready; Larian Studios announced today that the release will be pushed back a week to October 6, in order to resolve last-minute stability and localization issues The company announced.

"Our guiding principle regarding early access is that we are fine with a few small bugs and lack of polish, but we need to provide an enjoyable gameplay experience with as few crashes as possible.

"We are almost done, but there are a few unexpected delays and stability issues that are still being scrutinized. Because of the delays, translations have also been slower than expected, and we want to make sure that the announced early access language localization is good enough for our international fans to have a good time."

Larian expects that everything should be perfect in a week, but also warns that the game is not running on the "world tester" tool. The process is ongoing, and "the results look good, but not perfect yet," suggesting that there could be more delays if things suddenly go wrong.

Still, the studio is optimistic, or at least hopeful." Early access will begin on October 6 on Stadia, Steam, and GOG. 'Yes, it is. It really is."

The Early Access release of Baldur's Gate will cost $60 whenever it arrives, making it the most expensive PC game in Larian history, despite being unfinished. Here's why.
