Fortnite v14.20 Patch Notes: Blade, Wolverine as Boss, and BTS Events!

Fortnite update v14.20 is here and we are one step closer to wrapping up the massive Marvel Invasion of Season 4. The patch includes several significant bug fixes and new additions: new boss characters and a new concert event in Party Royale are the biggest highlights. However, none of that pales in comparison to the major additions of Marvel characters.

Blade's Comin'.

Epic still hasn't been great at providing an official description of exactly what the update is, so here's everything we know about the Fortnite v14.20 patch notes.

The vampire Blade, one of the first Marvel heroes to appear on the silver screen in the modern era, will appear in Fortnite during the 14.20 update. Blade was played by Wesley Snipes in a trilogy that began in 1998. Only "The Matrix" better embodied the late 90s obsession with leather, small sunglasses, and black trench coats.

Marvel announced last year that Blade would return in the modern MCU, played by Mahershala Ali. Ali previously played Cottonmouth in Luke Cage. Meanwhile, in "Fortnite," Blade's appearance was an unconfirmed rumor, first announced in an unofficial patch notes email from Epic. [However, Marvel's official Twitter account tweeted this series of emojis on Wednesday morning, and if this is not an overt Blade teaser, I don't know what is.

As of now, the exact timing of when Blade will appear in Fortnite is unknown, but since Blade is part of the 14.20 update, it is reasonable to expect it to appear in the very near future.

Just in time for the last few challenges, Wolverine will appear as a boss character on the Fortnite map in Weeping Woods, where players will be able to obtain a high-ranking loot named "Wolverine's Claw" to The character can be eliminated.

"Like the other bosses on the map, you won't go down without a fight," Epic forewarns.

Wolverine is the next Marvel character after Doctor Doom and Iron Man that players can actively hunt down for great weapons and abilities. Eliminating Wolverine (or performing other tasks in the same area) will likely affect the final challenge of the Wolverine skin.

Many new skins will be added during the Fortnite v14.20 update. Data miners like the ever-reliable HYPEX have discovered them. See them below.

Most interestingly, the description of Victoria Saint's skin reads "Vampire Hunter of the Old West." This seems an obvious connection to the blade skins that will be added in the future, but it also makes me want to read American Vampire again.

You can also get a number of crossover cosmetics from Rocket League in our guide. There will also be fun cake stickers and wrapping to celebrate Fortnite's third birthday.

If you want to see the world's biggest active pop band, we have a helpful guide on how to see BTS perform in Fortnite BTS will be performing a new choreographed video for "Dynamite," their first song written in English. Given their enthusiastic fanbase, there is no doubt that the Party Royale island will be packed.
