Good luck getting your hands on an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080. But while you may not be able to find one in stock for a little while, you can 3D print a miniature replica that doubles as a piggy bank.

In other words, turn sour lemons into sweet lemonade. Or they could keep putting coins in it until they have enough money to upgrade their GPUs...until they have enough money to upgrade their GPUs. Or, ironically, you could save up for a Radeon RX 6000 card, which AMD suggests is in ample supply.

Be that as it may, this design is the work of Nils Kal, who uploaded the schematic to Prusa Printers (via OC3D); it has been "scaled down a bit to fit the MK3 print bed," but if you want to faithfully reproduce the Founders Edition model If you want a faithful reproduction of the Founders Edition model, you can enlarge it up to 142%. There is also a schematic without the money slot.

"This design requires no support and is very easy to print and assemble. It also requires no extra hardware. The color change is layer-based, so no MMU is needed, and the 'PCI-E' part has built-in supports that need to be removed after printing," Kull explains.

As for how many coins can be placed in it, Cal says that if it were printed at 100 percent scale and only 2 euro coins were placed inside, it would hold 851 euro (actually it would be 850 euro). This equates to about $990 in U.S. currency, more than enough to purchase the RTX 3080.

For reference, a 2-euro coin is 25.75 mm in diameter, halfway between a US quarter (24.26 mm) and a US dollar (26.49 mm). In other words, if you fill this piggy bank with 25-cent coins, you would need to fill it up several times to save enough money to purchase the RTX 3080.
