37 CS:GO Coaches Banned for Exploiting Spectator Bug

Over the past month, several CS:GO coaches have been suspended for exploiting a spectator bug that gives them an unfair advantage by allowing them to overhead parts of the map that they would not normally see. esic (Esports Integrity Commission ) announced that it had analyzed the official tournament games of ESL and DreamHack. Initially, this resulted in the expulsion of three coaches: Ricardo "dead" Sinigaglia of MIBR, Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen of Heroic, and Aleksandr "MechanoGun" Bogatiryev of Hard Legion.

ESIC has now announced that it has sanctioned 37 coaches for using the glitch. So far, the ESIC has checked approximately 20 percent of all demos reviewed. However, the ESIC claims that the demonstrations identified so far are "most likely the most serious cases of abuse."

Each offender is assigned a "point reduction" corresponding to a specific sanctioning phase, which outlines the length of the ban. This standardizes sanctions and ensures that each person receives a fair punishment. The following are the sanction levels and ban periods:

Those who come forward in advance and admit to exploiting a bug may have their bans reduced.

The ESIC also outlines that it is not certain "whether the team associated with the offender was complicit in the exploitation of the Spectator bug at the time the offense was committed. For now, the full list of the 37 banned coaches, their teams, and the length of their respective suspensions are as follows:

The investigation also revealed that even tournaments not affiliated with ESIC had reported the Specter Bug to the administration as of 2017, but ESIC is " not aware of how these reports were handled by non-member teams. Therefore, the ESIC does not comment in relation to previous reports of the Specter bug to tournament administrators by individuals."

Thanks, Dexerto.
