The sixth season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone launched this morning, and its biggest addition is a fast-travel system that lets you experience the joys of commuting in Verdansk. As always, it comes with a new Battle Pass that distributes new weapons and operators, several new maps to fight on, and more additions throughout the season.

The Verdansk metro should make it easier to navigate Warzone's battle royale maps. Just pop into a subway station, hop on a train, and you'll be at the next station in seconds. That is, of course, if no one is around. If there is a battle, the subway will not run, but these stations seem to be the perfect spot for an ambush.

Armored Royale, the new warzone mode joining the metro, gives squads another mode of transportation: armored cargo trucks. This truck has armored plates and a nasty turret, and the squad can respawn as long as it is traveling in the truck.

Meanwhile, Modern Warfare has added new maps and new modes: a train station in Gunfight, a quiet suburb along the Verdansk River in Ground War, the Broadcast TV station map from the first Modern Warfare game is back in 6v6 mode is back, and the Milastor Tank Factory will allow players to fight in both 6vs6 and 10vs10.

On the mode front, Infinity Ward has a Kill Confirmed variation that collects kill streaks that do not reset upon death. However, to earn the streak, the player must collect the enemy's dog tags. It is those dog tags that are tallied at the end of the match. There is also Gun Game TDM, a hybrid of Gun Game and Team Deathmatch, with a twist on Headquarters and a twist on Hardpoint.

To get a bunch of freebies, you can complete daily, weekly, and mission challenges. Mixed in with the not-so-glamorous stuff like cosmetic decorations for your profile and new songs are two new weapons: the SP-R208 Marksman Rifle and the AS-VAL Assault Rifle. The Premium Pass opens up all 100 tiers and gives you the new operators Farah and Nikolai.

The centerpiece of the Premium Battle Pass would be Edward the Bat. Presumably named after the undead in "Twilight," Edward's new finishing move allows him to terrorize the last moments of his enemies by hurling a giant bat at them. Amazing. If you purchase the Undead Forces bundle, which includes the Hellhound, you can also summon actual undead companions.

The update is out now, so you'd better save room for it; the PC version will be quite a bit larger: 25GB if you just have Warzone, or 57GB if you have Modern Warfare. Let's look at the patch notes.
