Dell XPS 13 thin and light notebook with Intel Xe graphics

Dell announced that the XPS 13 and XPS 13 2-in-1 have undergone a hardware refresh; as part of Intel's Evo portfolio, the new generation of XPS 13 laptops will be powered by Intel's 11th generation, Tiger Lake processors and other design updates will also be made.

Memory is LPDDR4x 4,267 MHz (as opposed to 3,733 MHz in the previous version), and both models support Intel's Xe integrated graphics and Thunderbolt 4 port. The 2-in-1 model also boasts a display that is 7% larger than the previous generation model.

For more on what Intel Xe and the 10nm SuperFin process can offer, see our Tiger Lake test here. In conclusion, Intel Xe is a nice improvement over Ice Lake's integrated graphics, and we are already enjoying a bit of gaming with this chip.

A developer version of the XPS 13 will also be available (via The Verge), a Linux-based device that will be the first laptop with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS preinstalled.

Not only this, but Dell is also doing its part for the planet, with all new XPS 2020 models wrapped in sustainable packaging made from partially recycled ocean plastic.

The new models are available now, starting at $999 for the XPS 13 and $1,249 for the 2-in-1. Two color options are available, both with the look of an exotic car: "Platinum Silver with Black Carbon Fiber Interior" and "Frost with Arctic White Woven Glass Interior."

Sounds very stylish indeed. I'd love to test drive one.
