Tencent Acquires "Majority Stake" in GTFO Development Company

Chinese giant Tencent appears to be ransacking developers again.

This time Tencent is not buying the studio, which was founded five years ago by Overkill Software founder Wolf Anderson, but only acquiring part of it. How much studio was acquired and how much money was underwritten has not been announced, but according to 10 Chambers it is a "major investment."

According to Anderson, 10 Chambers was looking for a partner to give it "more clout" and complete the development of GTFO, which the team has been working on for five years. It is currently in Early Access.

"We needed to find a partner that would give us the creative freedom to reach new heights. It is even more exciting for the future of the entire studio."
