EKWB's new vertical mount gives water-cooled GPUs the attention they deserve

EKWB has introduced a new vertical GPU mounting bracket for water-cooled water blocks. This allows the graphics card to be mounted with the more exciting liquid cooling area above the GPU facing outward.

We have spoken about this issue many times before. You buy a fancy liquid cooling block for your graphics card, admire its beauty, mount it, and then mount it on your PC with the essentially beautiful part hidden from view; you know it's helping to cool your PC parts, but you can't show it off (unless you use a mirror). And what good is custom loop liquid cooling if you can't show it off? [Enter the EK-Loop Vertical GPU Holder. In fact, many modern cases come with the option to position graphics cards horizontally or vertically.

The Vertical GPU Holder requires at least six open slots, and the case must have an open PCIe expansion slot design (with no bracket bars attached) EK is planning mounts that will fit in these slots as well. but in order to fit everything in between, they will need to be cut out by hand at your peril.

The brackets screw into two of the ATX motherboard mounts and, according to EKWB, are incredibly sturdy and can withstand the precarious task of transporting a water-cooled PC once assembled. I must confess that I am not inclined to do that test myself.

A 200mm riser cable is also included, which should be sufficient for most builds.

But the ability to show off your PC's silicon doesn't come cheap: the EK-Loop Vertical GPU Holder is available from the EKWB web store for €65.
