"Silent Hill 4: The Room" is back on PC, which would have been a surprise had it not been listed on the PEGI site. It's like rating sites now exist solely to leak games.
Anyway! Like the trio of Metal Gear games that arrived a week ago, Konami has re-released Silent Hill 4 via GOG. It's been 16 years since its release and is quite old, but it seems to be another fairly straightforward digital port.
It's a bit odd, at times reminiscent of the classic "Silent Hills," but it strips away the tricky puzzles and splits the game between third-person and first-person perspectives. It's clumsy and horrible, and the inventory system can be extremely frustrating. Nevertheless, the premise of a man trapped in an apartment that also has a portal to a messy alternate world is well done and enjoyable for under $10. [Also, you can get the original "Mount & Blade" for free if you purchase it before the end of GOG's 12th anniversary sale on October 9.
