There is no doubt that season 3 of The Witcher will be available on Netflix.

Since the beginning of Netflix's The Witcher series, persistent rumors of three seasons before the greenlight have followed, but they have generally been nothing more than rumors and claims from industry insiders. The show had already decided on a second season before the first season was released, and a third season was decided on before the second season was released.

The fan blog Redanian Intelligence discovered the posting to the Writer's Guild of America database. (Thanks, VG24/7.) The post added "The Witcher Season 3 (2020-2021)" to the credits of executive producer, writer, and showrunner Lauren Hissrich. The Writers Guild of America is a very large union organization, so it is quite unlikely they would make this up.

Season 2 of The Witcher is scheduled to premiere in late 2021; it is unlikely that Season 3 will be released before summer 2022. Everything we know about it can be found on this site.

After the success of Season 1 of The Witcher and Season 3 of Castlevania, Netflix has stepped up its investment in video game-centric series, with Season 4 on the horizon. There is also a lot of animation in the pipeline: a CG Resident Evil series was recently confirmed, a Dragon's Dogma anime was just released, Splinter Cell is being animated, Cyberpunk 2077's "Edgerunners" anime is being released, and Cuphead is being animated. There are also at least two live-action films coming up: the Resident Evil show and Ryan Reynolds' theoretical Dragon's Lair movie.
