General
Godfall" is not a live service game, but it does need to be online.

Counterplay Games and Gearbox's upcoming fantasy "loot slasher," Godfall, can be played cooperatively or solo, but in any case, it requires an online connection. This was confirmed by the official Twitter account, which said, "Godfall is not a service game, but requires an Internet connection to play."

Presumably this is to prevent cheats, so when you jump into the game with other players you know they are not giving you max stats and the best items like in Diablo 2. Keeping character progression and loot drops server-side would prevent that from happening, and since Godfall has no PvP, what's the problem?

Godfall will be released exclusively on the Epic Games Store on November 12.

Thanks, VG247.
