Razer has created a Visa card for gamers.

Razer has partnered with Visa to pilot a new prepaid card program. If you were wondering how this gaming peripheral manufacturer would put its stamp on something so mundane as to be out of the ordinary, the answer was LED lighting. Were you expecting something different?

Taking a cue from Apple, the Razer Card combines a digital payment option with a virtual card and payment app (Razer Pay) with a physical numberless card that can be carried in a wallet or purse. In the latter case, you can choose either the Standard card or, if you want the Razer logo to glow green when you pay (and who doesn't?), the Premium card.

However, it does not have RGB lighting. It is like a banana. Instead, it has green LEDs. It is the opposite of a banana. I threw my current credit card in the trash. I am not a hick.

Offered through Razer Fintech, Razer's financial technology division, the new prepaid card offers 1 percent back on certain purchases and 5 percent on items purchased at Razer's online store. It also features a "gamification" rewards system. [Unlike traditional card loyalty programs, users can track, score, and redeem rewards based on tasks and daily transactions through a personalized experience," Razer explains.

"LED got me! Where can I sign up!" I know what you're thinking. Relax, Sparky. Because it's only available to 1,337 people in Singapore for a beta testing period.
