EVGA's new virtual queue automatically reserves the Nvidia RTX 3080.

If you're still struggling to find RTX 3080 inventory, you're not alone. To help customers trying to get their hands on valuable Ampere inventory, EVGA is rolling out a new queue-based notification checkout process in the US. It essentially functions as a digital ticket counter system, where you take a ticket, wait for your number to be called, and order a card.

EVGA is leading the way with a proper queue system for RTX 3080 inventory, which should mean that those still clamoring for the new graphics card can finally get their hands on it. According to Jen-Hsun, it will take some time for inventory to get through the queue. It could take some time, he says, but at least it will eventually get to you. This way, you won't have to go through the tedious task of frantically refreshing your Newegg every five minutes early in the morning while wearing your PJs.

Here's how it works: head to the EVGA store, find the product you want, and press the notify button. Once this product is in stock, a secure email will be sent to the next person on your waiting list notifying them of the availability.

If that is you, you will have 5 hours to purchase the card assigned to you. After those 5 hours, the link will expire and the RTX 3080 will be sent to the next user on the waiting list.

Users who have already set up a "notify me" e-mail will automatically be placed in the queue and will not need to set it up again.

This queuing system will initially be available only in the United States, but its success will later be evaluated for use in other regions. It will also work on the RTX 3090.
