Chris Metzen thinks Henry Cavill would make a "dreamy" Ursus in a "Warcraft" movie.

Henry Cavill. He's a hell of a witcher. He's going to be the great Emperor of Mankind. He's the sexiest system builder we know. On top of that, Blizzard developers, including former Blizzard senior vice president Chris Metzen, think he will be the most amazing arsus menetil.

It all started in September when graphic designer Mustafa Kemal Sezeroğlu posted a mockup of a nonexistent "Warcraft" movie poster: the poster was for the movie "Wrath of the Lich King," a mockup of which Henry Cavill plays the title role.

It was, of course, immediately posted on Reddit, but it didn't have a huge response until later, when Netflix released an image of Big Geralt to promote Season 2 of The Witcher.

As a result, there was speculation on Twitter that Cavill would also make a pretty good arthouse, a sentiment that eventually caught the attention of Blizzard officials, including screenwriter Christine Golden, associate narrative designer Anne Stickney, and Metzen caught their attention. [This is according to redditor Shara184:

Unfortunately, the odds of a Warcraft movie happening anytime soon are not good. Despite showing initial potential, the 2016 film was a flop, and director Duncan Jones said in 2018 that the experience was "really, really difficult and sometimes discouraging." It's not that he has no intention of making a sequel, but it's clear that it will be made "on a lower budget and with fewer people." They must make room for Henry, though.
