The latest update for "Baldur's Gate 3" has been released, fixing multiplayer issues and a "graphics glitch" that was occurring with the new Nvidia RTX 3080 cards. The update comes with an interesting request from Larian to Nvidia. [Fun fact: Fun fact: the card was so popular that we were unable to procure one to test before launch. 'We still don't have a single copy. At this point we are convinced you guys made up RTX 3080. Send it to us and prove its existence."
As for the update itself, Larian said it "fixes the most frequent crashes and multiplayer issues," but there are still quite a few other problems. The "good news is that most of the reported issues are known, and most of them have already been fixed. In general, any remaining multiplayer issues can be resumed by reloading the game and loading the next available save."
That's as far as it goes, but it's worse if you were so immersed in the game that you completely forgot to save.
"Save-scumming," the act of saving the game just before an action with a dangerous or random outcome and reloading it again and again until you get an outcome you like, is as old as video games themselves, and there is a debate about it: most people have done it at least twice in their lives. Some have done it at least twice, and some consider it disgraceful. But Larian urged players not to make a bad impression, at least this time.
"If you are vehemently opposed to save-scamming, please do not read the following message. *"We recommend that you do quick saves more often, both because of the additional autosave points in the game and to avoid losing time when problems arise. Just press F5." If you're streaming, just create an overlay that hides when you save. Or pretend to cough. No one will notice, really."
The next update and patch are due "soon" and will be bigger than the hotfixes rolled out over the past few days. In the meantime, here's the full list of fixes:
