Kingdom Come Warhorse Studios' medieval RPG "Kingdom Come: Deliverance" will be adapted into a live-action film, and the studio is teaming up with Wild Sheep Content, the production company behind the recently announced film "Yakuza. [No decision has been made yet on whether it will be a series or a movie, and the search for a writer and director has just begun, Variety reports. It's just getting started. [Kingdom Come: Deliverance may not be as recognizable as The Witcher, Monster Hunter, or Resident Evil, but it is just the right material for a film adaptation. Dueling, battles, and a clumsy blacksmith's son constantly getting into trouble ...... I would watch.
Henry may be the hero and hero of the game, but in the grand scheme of things, he's a subsidiary character a little out of his depth as the nobles of the Holy Roman Empire plot and tussle. He's a little more sympathetic than the dashing knight and a lot more fun to follow along. He also becomes a medieval detective, solving crimes and infiltrating monasteries.
In other words, the game spawned a historical TV show and movie. In the case of The Witcher, it is both.
Eric Barmack, former Netflix executive and founder of Wild Sheep Content, compared "Kingdom Come: Deliverance" to "The Witcher" and told Variety, "While locally relevant, it's also a game that streamers are looking for "a great non-U.S. world with the regional and global popularity they are seeking as they become increasingly global.
Having played a lot of "Crusader Kings 3" recently, I can attest to the potential for a lot of drama in the Holy Roman Empire. I don't think we'll see it for a while, though.
